Wsus server not updating
This, Microsoft hopes, will eliminate some of the problems that have been plaguing recent WSUS channel upgrades for Windows 10 machines delivered through Windows Server 2012/R2 with the KB3148812 patch.Microsoft says that WSUS machines had been unable to properly decrypt the upgrade files which in turn caused problems when the upgrades were pushed out to the end users. The update will be installed by default on Windows Server 2016 releases.Microsoft has announced a fix today for its flawed update, known as "KB3148812".I do have them checking for updates every hour from my WSUS server though, and to expedite the process I run a Power Shell script to force it to check & install after the script I'm installing apps manually (we're still in POC/demo mode). Updates#Download updates.$Session = New-Object -Com Object Microsoft.
WSUS server has both of the Windows 10 related updates (including the one that required additional steps after installation). Windows 1511 updates no problem and you can even start the 1607 update from WSUS if I approve it for a computer. Download()#Install updates.$Installer = New-Object -Com Object Microsoft.
I've tried setting the GPO option here to bypass with the intent of making sure the box gets updates straight from WSUS and not from other clients.https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/mni ...
s-10-1607/Adding KB3176495 as a preinstall package for one of my deployments via MDT seemed to help but it isn't working now.
It prepares the way for WSUS to automatically decrypt Windows 10 feature updates.
It's needed for Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2 users that want to keep Windows 10 clients up to date.
